How does mental health coaching work?

Mental health coaching involves personalized sessions with a trained professional who provides guidance, support, and accountability to help you achieve your wellness goals. Maybe you met with a therapist previously to better understand the effects of past experiences on your life and are now in a better position to focus on personal and professional development. While therapy can be a great fit for many people, for others there are several indicators that mental health coaching may be a better match.

What do I say on the call?

Relax....Mental health coaches often ask a few questions to guide the interaction and then listen deeply to their clients to gain an understanding of their personal needs, challenges, and hopes. You are the expert of your experience and you can share whatever you are comfortable sharing!

What if the coach doesn't "get me" at all?

I will sure try! Mental health coaches are specially trained professionals who help people develop greater self-awareness, implement tools to better manage their lives, and pursue specific mental health goals. Many people choose a mental health coach vs. a therapist if they want professional support, but don’t have a complex mental health condition such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, or suicidal thoughts. About Me

DreamBig Wellness is a mental wellness coaching practice based in Lancaster, PA. I strive to create a safe, open, and warm atmosphere where individuals can explore their primary interests, develop goals and identify strengths. Using a variety of approaches including mindfulness, person-centered, strengths based, cognitive behavioral therapy, and structural therapy techniques we will work towards positive mental well-being. I am passionate about helping individuals, families, and relationships of any kind to reconnect and view the coaching process as an alliance between the coach and coachee. I consider the individual as the experts of their lives and I am here as a guide to help navigate through the process.

My experience is the areas of anxiety, depression, behavioral interventions, family conflict, self esteem, life transitions and relational problems. This journey to mental and emotional wellness may be challenging and uncomfortable, but there is peace and joy on the other side of the challenge and I believe this can be the experience for all individuals.
 
I believe that everyone has the ability to learn, grow and improve their mental and emotional health. Each person’s growth will occur at different rates but there are still opportunities for growth. I look forward to the opportunity to help you work towards positive mental well-being and developing the skills to cope with these challenges.
