What does a coaching session look like?

We will discuss a plan for the goals you want to work towards and I will ask questions that will help you see things from a different perspective and open up to changes that'll improve your life. I will also introduce you to new perspectives and skills.

How often would we meet?

It's totally up to you and your availability!  Some people like to meet weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.  We can work together to determine the best timing for coaching sessions.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

Coaches cannot diagnose clients with mental health conditions, but we can use a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches that can help move you through the process.  Although I am a mental health therapist, in this role I am providing care as a mental health coach and will refer you to therapy services and adjunct services, if necessary.

What is a discovery call?

A coaching consultation, sometimes called a discovery call, is a free call between a new prospective client and a coach to assess fit for a coaching relationship. These calls are often done virtually or sometimes via phone and typically last 20-30 minutes.

What kinds of things will we talk about?

I may use a variety of questions to gain a deeper understanding of what brought you to coaching and what you hope to achieve. This may include goals, challenges, and expectations after engaing in coaching.  I may ask questions related to things you want to learn, experience, grow through and change in your life.

Will I be expected to sign-up for coaching?

Asolutely not! There is no obligation on either side to form a coaching relationship following a discovery session. A discovery session is an opportunity for both coach and coachee to get to know each other, in order to make an informed decision and freely decide if they want to work together.

What would we talk about in group coaching?

Group coaching involves coaching a group of people who want to achieve similar goals. The group attends the same coaching call to help one another discover their inner motivations, tap into their skills, and reach their goals with the support of one another.

An important benefit of group coaching is the opportunity to receive feedback from others in a supportive environment. It is rare to find friends who will gently point out how you might be behaving in ways that hurt yourself or others; this is a unique benefit of being a part of a group.
